I think a lot of people say they hate Fates cause its a meme. Recently, Awakening got a whole bunch of renewed love from the fanbase (despite being almost hated when it originally came out), and I'm willing to bet Fates is gonna get its due too. Later on, you can explore the depth of the story in a third path, available to purchase as add-on content Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation.

I wouldn't say there's any twist cause most of the story moments you can see coming, but it's more of a gradual beating Corrin continuously tries to do the right thing but has to deal with the consequences of choosing the side they're on.īut that's me and my opinion. Fire Emblem Fates comes in two versions, each with their own story to tell. I like the idea that the road to hell is paved with good intentions and that Corrin must endure these trials, but they seem to come out the better for it. Corrin makes the hard choice to side with the people they know are bad, but hopes to reform, and pays the price for it. I like Conquest cause I feel like Corrin has the best character arc of the 3 and has the most agency in it. Birthright is too generic FE for me, and Revelations has too much of a "canon route" vibe to me in that everything magically works out with barely any conflict. It wasn't my first Fire Emblem, but it was definitely the one that I felt the most connected to as I played it (though this might've been because of the difficulty since FEs 6-13 didn't have difficulty like this and those were my frames of reference).
